Hey!
Thanks guys!
Sorry, no action pics. I try to make some pics next time on the track.
Concerning the Drift Assist, it´s amazing, how it works! The handling of the car is so easy now! You have a real advantage on slippery tracks! Good for training-sessions with older tires.
One of the deepest memories was a 2 pages-advertising in the rc car action magazine of the RC10 from Jay Halseys car. I was a young boy at that time and this picture of the car was so great! It was a funny picture with a shrinked Jay Halsey with a big winner-cup in one hand. Very funny, but very impressive for me.
Maybe some guys here have a scan from this advestisement. That would be great!
Thanks!
Michael

Sorry to dredge up an oldie....but this car is awesome. Really inspiring me to finish my racers and hit the track. Kudos on a great current day retro race machine.
I may "borrow" some ideas too....

car looks great!
love that low body.
only bad thing is.. he can only use it for 1/4 mile runs.. the steering servo cant turn the wheels much
turning radius is a mere 60 feet

Re: I love this Forum! Here is my ride.
Killer looking RC10, I would definitely want to make something like this to race again.
Look like you are using B4 shock. Is this correct?
What’s the front shock tower? It looks like you modified some other shock tower to fit.
How dos it ride?
Hope your still riding it.

Re: I love this Forum! Here is my ride.
Hi!
Yes it´s true, the front shock tower was a option part. Unfortunately I don´t know the manufacturer, who made it. But this shock tower was made for the ultra-long rear-shocks. I shortened it a little to fit it to the B4-front-shocks. It works very well at the front! Its not so progressiv, than the original shorter shocks.
By the way, the Truck-rear shock tower is not only for better look. The car runs definitely better on slippery surfaces now.
I want to race this car with Sebastian and his RC10 this season at some races in germany. That will be fun!
Stay tuned!

Re: I love this Forum! Here is my ride.
Hello there!
At the the first Aril 2008-weekend we have here in Germany a important Buggy Indoor race.
After testing the cars with Sebastian on carpet, I decided to make some modifies for my ride to improve it for carpet-racing.
Finally I found a reason to take my carbon-tub-chassis for this race. Surely I cut it down! Haha! But to be honest, that thing is so stiff! Unfortunately the chassis is not very precise manufactured. So I had to make alot of dremel-works to make it fit.
For this moment I have a little time to design new front- and rear shock-stays with improved shock-positions and to fit the B4-shocks. If I have some more time I will make aluminium steering arms and a steering plate in Masami-style to reduce bump-steering and conflicts with the ball-ends when steering by using RPM-ball-ends.
Sometimes I think I overact some things with my car. So I never will win a race with that thing. But it´s fun to improve an old car, like the RC10! Senseless hobby! haha!
Thanks! And thank you all, who wants to "siebenelched" their RC10.

Re: I love this Forum! Here is my ride.
Cool just got cooler! You really have to be a devoted cut-down chassis man to go after that Fibre-Lyte tub with the Dremel, but it looks great.
Whether or not the older RC10s can be competitive against the modern cars is an old debate, but yours sure "looks" like it could. At the rate you’re going, you may just figure it out. If nothing else, it's certain to intimidate a few drivers on the starting grid.
Awesome buggy!

Re: I love this Forum! Here is my ride.
Thanks guys!
It´ll be harder and harder to surprise you! Haha. I do my best!
Sebastian and me, we will make a speciel-report from the race. With tons of pictures, if you want!
I get a MOOH-design-body from Sebastian this week(with Brian Kinwald-coloures) and then we go as TEAM MOOH to the race.
I will try to find some 1/8 -nitro onroad-donuts to make my own foam-tires for front and rear. I remember at the end of 80´s we started to drive foam-tires on buggys for the indoor-races. Long time before the new class "touring car" was coming.
And I try to make some new anti-roll-bars for front and rear. That is very important for indoor-races!
See ya!
