Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - June 2016 ** - Winner - Charlie don't surf
Sorry for the delay friends, connectivity issues from home yesterday evening!
Here's my runner LXT - acquired in a so-so shape on the forum a few years back, restored to its full glory, and now in a so-so shape as it's a runner and I have too many projects and racers to spend time on!
It sports some cool goodies, a XX Transmission with Hydradrive, a Magnum PCM radio, Triad 11x3 mill, Futaba 9301, all period-correct but a the Novak Cyclone, just a few years too young. The good thing is that LiPos fit, which is useful as I like to run it and goof around with it in the yard
Good luck to everyone!

Schumacher SV2-Pro
Tekin 17.5 motor
Tekin RS esc
Savox SC-1252mg
Schumacher rubber
Schumacher purple turnbuckles
My start with RC racing began about 30 years ago. Unfortunately, tracks and clubs have been sporadic at best since those initial childhood days. As an adult I'd jump at the chance to race again, even traveling 50-100 miles to do so even on local levels. When nobody was racing cars, I started my own fast electric RC boat club to stay in the hobby, and did some travel racing out of state for that. After I started having kids, I kind of backed out of everything for a while. So about 4 years ago I found out there was an indoor offroad track opening relatively close to home! I decided to go all out, and build something way different than than my normal Losi/Associated picks. I ordered the SV2-pro, a selection of Schumacher wheels and tires, a solid selection of spare suspension parts, a high end Servo, a Viper Pro 6.5 motor and controller set up and 3 high end 2s shorty packs. I even went so far as to put together an entire second SV2 with about 4 different chassis configurations on hand.
So I'd guess 2-3 months after I found out about the new track I was ready to dive in! I went online to check the tracks web site for their next race day, and for whatever reason the link was dead!? Within a few days I found out what was going on...The track was closed indefinitely due to a large fire inside the building
I was bummed, not from the butt load of money I invested (well not really an investment
) but from the excitement of getting ready to race again followed by the let down of "no more track". I was hoping the track owners would be able to get things running again, but they never did. So sadly this car has actually never been run, except for testing the esc and servo settings after being built. I have since sold off the second car with the mod motor set up to someone out of state, but held onto this guy in hopes that a track would pop up once again.
So here he is in all its glory, I pulled it out the closet for a chance to share with the community my newest, although a quite few years old now "toy"
Thanks for looking!

My RC10 Worlds Car re-release project. http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=40284
Pretty much stock kit build with the exception of RPM ball cups and some FT blue aluminum screws. Has Viper body on it because I didn't like the colors of the Turbo Mirage body I painted originally for it.
Tekin RS Gen 2 ESC
Tekin Redline Gen 3 17.5t Motor
Airtronics 94661 Servo
Airtronics 92621 Receiver
Panther Rattler tires front & rear (clay compound) with AKA foams.

Have you ever been in a situation where you thought "Oh boy, I'm in way over my head."??
Not that I don't love this car, but I smell a slaughter...
