Best battery for a castle combo
Not sure if I'm posting in the right spot........what is the best battery to use with a castle combo speed control and brushless 5700 and 4600 k motors......3cell max........I got some cheap battery when I bought it and it already kicked the bucket on me......is there a better brand than not?

You probably don't realize it, but that's WAY too vague of a question. It all depends on what you want to do, and how much you want to spend. Battery brand isn't hugely important. Some cheapo online ones work just fine. BUT, what you'll want to look for is the mAh and "C" ratings. The higher the mAh rating, the longer it will last. The higher the C rating, the faster it will accelerate. After that it's just brand and how much you want to spend.
With a buggy like the RC10, I'd get a 4000mAh or higher, and a C rating of at least 50.

Do yourself a favor and search online for ratings and capacity of Lipo batteries.
What was stated here is what you should start with. There are great batteries out there for half the price or less of "Max" brand styles.

the ratings work like this:
the capacity of the cell is the mAh number. for instance, 4000mAh is 4000 milli-amps(or 4 amps) for 1 hour at a constant discharge before the cell is totally 'dead'. So it's current/time ratio. If you draw 16 amps continuously, it would be 'dead' after 15 minutes.
the C rating is a rough number to qualify the quality of the cells (internal resistance) and the pack construction. So 1C=4000mAh. this is what you would nominally charge the cell at, 4 amps for 1 hour will provide a full charge to a 'dead' battery. When I say 'dead' the cell has hit it's cutoff voltage; beyond which cell damage can occur.
so when you have a battery that advertises 50C, this means that it can peak at 50 times the C rating, or in this case, 200amps. It will non sustain this for very long, but it is capable. A battery that is only 30C would be 120 amps, and the more current you can supply, the more 'punch' you will have, because torque is derived from how much power the motor can convert from the battery.

Even the more expensive batteries will not last long if not properly cared for. They do not like to be under/over charged and must be kept at a certain voltage when storing to insure long life.

Detailed description, but likely way to nerdy for a newb.
"C" is how fast it accelerates (or how fast it dumps power).
mAh is how long it lasts.
