Gold pan upgrade, no more MSC.
I recently got my all stock #6016 kit rc10 working. I am using a tenergy smart charger and two different 1500 6 cell batteries.
It is much slower than I remember, so I had to do something. I didn't want to go overboard, but I thought it would be great to have reverse and some power. I want at least as much power as it had when I drove it almost 30 years ago.
So I ordered a 7cell 3000mah battery, a hobbywing 1060 ESC to replace the old MSC and a HPI 15t motor.

Im hoping this setup will work well in my gold pan. Let me know what you veterans think of this combination.

The ESC is good so far. The brake is great, I'm not used to that. Reverse is awesome for running around the house.
I ran one 3S pack through the stock motor , I think it is burnt now. The 8.4v NIMH pack runs really well on the 15t motor.
Overall the kids got a kick out of it and my oldest enjoyed driving it.

What Lipo battery is that? It looks awfully small like it's for a 1/12 or 1/18 scale car.

It's some little 3s 2200mAh 25C I had. It is small, but it works like a champ. I picked up some larger 2s packs that I'm actually going to run.

The ESC, battery, motor and transmitter/receiver combo all added up to $90 with shipping. The car is worlds better than its ever been and I think it was pretty economical.
