As I am sitting in the shop tearing down some of my recent parts car purchases I stumbled onto a few parts that made me smile and think back to a time when we were younger, on a budget, and maybe not the most talented of mechanics just yet but had plenty of time and curiosity on our hands to make do with what we had. Or, our parents just flat out said "no" as we begged them to take us to the hobby shop
At any rate, I thought you guys would get a kick out of the pictures...
One does it for many reasons, be it a trail/track fix until you can get back to a shop, to actual improvement over the stock version. Whatever the reason, the feeling of fixing something, whether temporary or permanently, is almost as good as getting to run what you brung.

The car I'm trying to fix now is all junk repairs. I was a little hard on it as a kid.
One of the front turnbuckles is replaced with a piece of wire and there was a pound of electrical tape on it.
What tips and techniques have you used to repair cracks & damage on hard bodies?
I used to just use super glue and hobby shop glue to keep them together, not for looks :)
Have a couple of srb bodies I will be working on with various cracks etc..

I have pulled out the fried FET's and hoping it can be replaced with a good working...

Just gto the GT3C and Quanum in - WOW, can't believe how small the receivers are! Haven't tried to install yet, my ESC hasn't arrived. Did get some great 2.2 wheels and some 12mm adapters for the Terra Scorcher.
What's the best bang for your buck with hardcase car lipos these days?
Looking for something I can throw in the kids cars for playing or for practice at the track.

Yeah racing 3200mah packs, still using same four i bought early last year they are small and light compared to sum lipo's and cheap. Roar approved also

As the title says this will just be a budget basher build with nothing fancy (for now). Over time I will slowly upgrade the parts and make a more modernized buggy.

they are about equal to stock arms. They are a little tougher, especially if your arms are old and brittle. You could do the boiling water trick to freshen the stock ones, and just replace IF you break them. No significant improvement with the RPM...
Hi I'm updating my 80's vintage RC10 and I want to install a new ESC but I'm on a budget. Looking at a couple on eBay. One's a duratrax slash the other is a dynamite tazer. Does anybody have any input on these. I'm staying sorta old school and using...

That is a priceless 2 cents! Sadly, sometimes people do not take good advice!
