Just got this Kyosho Slingshot, advice needed

Post by tintin74 »

Hey guys,

I just got this Kyosho Slingshot, and I was wondering what the best shell would be for it?
I was thinking about some McAllister Bodies, some seem to fit nicely like the Ol Smokey...

Here are a few naked pictures:

These are from when I received it:

This is the Novak T-1 ESC that I also got for it.

Here the pictures with period correct electronics installed, Eventually, I will get some period correct saddle packs.

Wow, great sample you have got there!

Mine has a body that I think is "time period correct" but I do not know what body exactly.

Looking good, I really like that one. Going to be hard finding a period correct body in good shape...

Custom works still sells many of the old bodies that would fit great, like the open comp Camaro. You could also try McAllister.

I got my Slingshot back when they came out. At the time in Japan, there weren't any oval specific bodies available, so I picked up a 1/8 rally body. Never painted it and only ran the car a couple times. Fast Forward a few years and back in the states, I picked up a nice oval style body and proceeded to ruin it trying to use liquid mask and the wrong kind of paint. So the rally body is still on it and still unpainted.

Something like this is what I was going to use:

Specically, I think a Cherokee or some kind of SUV body would look good. Alot of oval type bodies I've seen are just ugly, especially with the wheels sticking out way past the fenders. They just don't look right imo. I wanted a Slingshot when they first came out but never got one. I guess the oval aspect of it turned me off a bit.
