RC10T Truck version help needed

Post by BigRodney »

Hi everyone, thanks for this great site, I’ve already learned a lot from reading the posts. I have two RC10T Trucks I’d like some help identifying and learning about. I bought these trucks for my two sons seems like about 20 years ago. We built them and played with them for a while and then they lost interest and they got shelved. Neither of my sons is interested in them so I was going to sell them. I found this site while researching what the trucks might be worth but now that I’ve read a lot of posts you guys have me excited to clean these trucks up and rebuild them. So that’s where I’m at right now, I don’t have the manuals anymore, not sure exactly which generation these trucks are and reading posts hasn’t really helped with that. I’ll post some pictures and maybe someone can help me identify these.

Thanks in advance.

Sport truck, number 7011. Late version with T2 suspension arms. Great bashers

Thanks for the reply GoMachV. So what defines mine as a Sport truck and what are T2 suspension arms? Sorry for the noob questions but I’m a noob.

Is the Sport truck different in weight or performance than the other two models or are the white component cars just more rare and collectable?

I read this from History of the RC10T: “The RC10T, using the same basic platform as it's RC10 counter part, was released in three kit forms. Starting with the #7001 (Truck), #7035 (Team Truck), and the #7011 (Sport truck)” but there’s not much info about black part cars or how they are different.

Is there any way to determine about what year this truck was manufactured?

Thanks again.

Sport truck had bushings and came with gold shocks and a basic stock motor. Also had the three piece wheels.
It had the longest run of all the trucks iirc. Yours is a late version due to the black plastics. The T2 arms were just that, they were arms off the rc10t2. That means its successor was already on the market when your truck was sold.

It's a rock solid fun truck with not a lot of resale value so enjoy it and you'll be fine

Anybody have a link to a manual on this truck? I plan to rebuild both trucks with a few upgrades and it would help to have the original instructions.

The 7001 is very similar with the exception of shock color and bearings, little stuff. I haven't seen a 7011 manual uploaded but here is the 7001

So I think at this point my plan is take it apart, clean it up, fix whatever, replace bushings with bearings, rebuild shocks, and run it. Upgrades later if momentum exists.

Thats a solid plan. Once you have all that done this truck is very adaptable to quite a few things. Would handle brushless easily and would make a great runner.
