Had good luck with Novak so far, and the bundle was not to expensive.

Used the setup from Ryan C as I was building it.

Any tips on what to change if anything from his setup for 17.5 on high grip clay track?

Already bought Proline Electrons and Proline Primes.

Can you explain what these upgrades are and how they help:

MIP Puck System
Kashima coated shock bodies
CB Cut Gears

I love my B5M - handles so good right out of the box. I feel a bit guilty enjoying it so much over the vintage stuff but its just so smooth and easy to drive

The MIP Puck system and cut gears cuts down on the weight in the transmission. The MIP puck system also comes with lighter axles. Another upgrade I bought is a slipper eliminator to save even more weight. My B4 has all the same upgrades and it works great for 17.5.

I bought the Kashima coated shock bodies as they are suppose to be smoother, but I also really like the color of them :D .

My first race with the B5m on a new layout was great. I didn't win, but I had a good time and that is all that really matters.

It took a while to get used to the different handling characteristics compared to the B4, but once i did I almost felt like I was cheating  . The car will go wherever you point it and jumps amazing.

My first heat I stayed on the lead lap and maintained 3rd place. I know it is just qualifying but I try to treat each time I am on the track as a main event.

Second time out I had a couple bobbles and went two laps down.

Qualified for the A Main! Sure we only had one main, but it was the A !

Saved my 100C 2800 2S pan car battery for the main to get a bit more speed. Well that took a considerable amount of weight off the rear wheels and I spun out on the start. It took about 2-3 laps for me to readjust to the different weight. I wish I could say I overcame this and pulled ahead, but I finished 10th out of 10 cars.

With only 40 Minutes practice on a brand new car and different layout I feel like I did well. With more track time I know I can be up front with this car.

Nice and bright. Won't lose that on the track. I like it.
