I think the paint is kinda cool if done right, not covering the whole body like in the ad but in a stripe or just a portion of the body. Hope it won't make me a numb skull...
Wow, that ad brings back a lot of memories! It was due to it that my father and I painted the body of my first R/C with the neon green and black. Then backed those with a candy green.

welcome to the board.
My two cents... run the old radio gear if you can get it to work properly without a great expense. Skip the nimh, go for lipo. I have seen a few mega online hobby stores with 5000mah 20+c lipos for as low as $25-30. I made the...
okay, so I'm new to the airbrush thing, I got one about a year ago and tried using parma faskolor, got frustrated with it and threw all the faskolor up in the rafters, recently I got a couple jars of traditional pactra and have been playing with it...

A few random differences and thoughts about the subject of differences between both:
pactras laquer paints for me have better adherance : the thinner 'bites' into the lexan and so the paint won't chip on the first bang. (And it is less dependant on...
So i've got a set of plastic rims, im guessing made of nylon, that were painted a long time ago. Needless to say, the paint now looks absolutely horrible and id like to try and remove it.
Any suggestions as to what chemical can do this w/o...

Thanks for posting that guys. I just picked up an RC10 that I plan to freshen up and run it. This will be one of the first things I do.
I did try to use the search, but cannot for the life of me, find the darn thread containing pictures of the original rc10 box art car in its current state(missing the wing) Im thinking of doing a perfict paint/detail job for my mint...
I have a new tamyia body shell , can I use fastkolor paint or should I use tamyia spray cans.

You don't need to use Tamiya paint on a Tamiya body; Lexan is Lexan. Pactra & Tamiya paints are lacquer-based, put out nasty fumes and are difficult to clean up after--but for a rattle-can job, they're the best. Tamiya RC paints, it should be...
After a bit of indecision and looking at god knows how many Protech bodied RC10's I arrived at this!
I'm a happy chappy. :D
I'm waiting for a decal lot I won on eBay with plenty of old school A/RC10 decals included, before I add any more,no past...

...would I need to cover a shell??
Gonna get some Tamiya acrylic paint to freshen up the Raider but I don't know how much I'll need, 10ml, 23ml???

hi isitafox
I always use 100ml Tamiya spray cans, they are enough to give 2 thin coats of paint to your raider and surely to do other raider too. So expect a body could need about 15 or 20 ml per coat
