What do you mean? When I moved house last year? I was renting and then bought my first house. Still in the same area and this happened at the last rented house once before.

First quote for the windscreen £551!!!!!!!! Yikes...

did you call the Sheriff of... errr forget it. I'm sure you've NEVER heard that one before. Sorry about your car mate. Maybe they were trying to make improve your car by changing its aerodynamics... or perhaps adding "speed holes".

Did you mean scoops?

Mate, these loosers deserve the same treatment your car has received... Same kind of vandalism happened 5 times to my wife's car before we moved, always to steel oil, tools and other crap... The fifth time, she was waiting at a traffic light when they smashed the passenger window and went away running with a bag full of cash, jewels and clothes. She was nearly at home when it arrived and was on the phone with me at that moment, she is still scared about it a year or so after... Man, if ever I happened to be in the car, those guys would not EVER recognize their own face in the mirror. At least for you Ed, it's "just" material damage. I'm sorry for you mate and perfectly understand the mood you could be/are in

I don't think a golf ball could do that. I think somebody smacked it with a hammer or something. How come the windsheild is so much? I have had 3 winsheilds replaced on different cars and they were never higher than $300 (~£150)

Ed didn't mean a golf ball did that, but rather thought those heavy super loosers thought his car was a golf ball... at least that is what I understand from the title :|

Erich: I did call the nasty sheriff of Nottingham who sent out there forensic team. They printed the car and golf club. Nothing was found but the forensic girl was pretty hot (though it was quite hard to tell as she wore combat trousers, boots and a stab vest) so that lightened my mood a little.

Shodog: Sorry if that was unclear. There was a smashed up golf club (not mine) left in the car after they had finished with it/my car. I can only assume that was the method of beating my car took.

I am pissed.

There was nothing in my car of value, there never is, the stereo is an oem tape player and I leave the rear parcel shelf off so it can be seen nothing is in the boot.

Asso_man!: I am really sorry that happened to your wife that can really shake the girls up. I too would like to meet the fellow who did this and return his gold club, I am assuming he carrys it in his arse as that is where I am going to put it.

This act was so so pointless.

The screen quote is the first one I got from Auto glass who advertise on the UK TV, I have since found a much more reasinable quote of £81.25 and will have that done tomorrow. The rest I will pick up from the scrapyard after the screen is fixed and spend the weekend pimping my ride.

Me too!

Sorry for your loss. I had my truck broken into a few years ago. Dirty bastids smashed the drivers window and made off with my bag type cell phone (tells you how many years ago it was ... ). I was more pissed off at losing my two tape measures than I was the phone, and had the idiots looked under the seat they'd have found a fresh carton of smokes. If they'd have smashed a window on the shell, they'd have had access to all my tools. Which brings me to another brain surgeon thief. The kicker is that they opened the electrical panel on the side of the house and turned off ONE breaker, the breaker that controlled the motion sensor light in the driveway.

On another occasion someone took pliers to the locked handles on the side wing of the shell AND DIDN'T TAKE ANYTHING! I don't know if they got interrupted, scared, or what, but nothing was touched. They also did the wrong window, had they done one of the other two they'd have had access to all the tools that lived in there. Criminals aren't the brightest group in the world.

Dude, sorry to hear about that. I just don't understand people some times.
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.

Bummer deal! What ever happened to those plastic "practice" balls?
Time to invest in some armored bullit-proof glass!

Not too bad, I had a quote for a broken rear side window on my Renault Laguna Estate of £640 from Autoglass, best price found was £299. :x Claimed on my insurance and got it repaired at Autoglass because I had less insurance excess from them than any other repairer. :? Most comprehensive insurance will repair your glass without affecting your no claims bonus.

For stupid car thieves I have one friend who got up in the morning to find the steering wheel sitting on the passenger seat. Looked like someone went a bit too far in trying to break off the steering lock.
