Never Forget

Post by slotcarrod »

Remembrance Day (Commonwealth's Memorial Day) is a sad day for me, I have a hard time keeping back tears thinking about all the lives and sacrifices given over many generations to keep us free. It hurts the most when a few people do not respect what they and their families have given us, they seem to have an opinion. They forget that the reason they can have that opinion is because they are free! Many also forget what the families have always suffered with worry and in the worst case loss. They gave us their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and the hardest, fathers and mothers. Very hard for kids to grow up without a parent!

Thank you to all that have given, we will never forget!

To those still serving... Keep safe! Chin up, head down, and one round in the chamber, in case you stick the bayonet!

I was traveling today, but at 11am on 11-11-2015 today I found myself at the BC and Alberta border standing at a Canadian flag with my hat off for a moment of silence. I thank all of those who have served and are serving our great country.

I caught myself with a bald eagle on the highway momentarily too... they remind me of my grandparents place where they gathered every year to feast on chicken farm waste. It must have been a sign from my grandfather who fought in Normandy.

Yes, thanks to all that served! I got my dad a 6 pack of Coor's light tall boys and a tall boy koozie as a thank you yesterday. He served in Viet Nam. My grandfather passed, but he served during the Korean War and WWII. I have all of his medals and certificates that I'm working on cleaning up and framing for display. RIP grandpa and a huge thanks to everyone that served so the rest of us can enjoy our freedom with easy minds! 8)

I agree wholeheartedly. I also took a full minute, and the thoughts were powerful.

Thank you to all that will never see this. You have given your lives so we can be free. My family thanks you.

To those that continue to serve your countries, I can not thank you enough for your dedication and efforts.
