Well, a picture its worth a thousand words, so....romulus22 wrote:Ill be honest I rarely read post unless its a tech thread. I just like to look at pictures mostly. I went through your post and don't see any typos so I guess I missed it.justinspeed79 wrote:
I have a brand new airbrush I got about a year ago, haven't even hooked up yet. Maybe soon.
Btw, not sure if you caught my little typo, but I fixed.
What are your plans for the body? Your own design or replica? And I forgot to mention but that engine cleaned up pretty well. I almost bid on that truck just for that engine.

I accidentally typed Romulus10 instead of Romulus22 before.

As for paint, I will probably do my own design, I will save the box art theme for my team truck.
The engine did clean up very nicely, thanks. That and the copper plated brake cam were what I was after too.

Re: RC10GT restoration project
Thanks Marlo!marlo wrote:That's a beauty of a truck!, I must have a later one, my arms are black, but everything else is white.
The gt was only out for about a year before they started phasing out the white parts. During the phasing out process there were many variations of black/white mix, but all white with black arms seems to be a fairly common occurrence. I have seen many that way that were supposedly original. Of coarse it is also possible that the arms were replaced at some point, and could have originally been all white. Oddly, most of the ones I have seen with the all white/black arms also have v.2 black shock towers, but I have a nib kit that has all black parts, with white v.1 shock towers.

Re: RC10GT restoration project
Mine is a "NIB", but seal is broken, but the bag's have not been opened. All white, but like I said, only the arms are black. I wish they were white, like your beauty
The "RE-RE" shell is fantastic BTW.
It's an odd ball truck for me, as it's "out of place" in my collection, but I just had to have one, and because of that, I suppose a DS will come soon....
.....then B2, then B3...etc, but that's just a thought

Just to clarify, I didn't mean to imply that yours isn't original, just that some of the ones I have seen may not have been.marlo wrote:Mine is a "NIB", but seal is broken, but the bag's have not been opened. I have a nitro dual sport, currently in pieces, waiting for a resto.

Re: RC10GT restoration project
Oh no worries, and it's funny you had mention about the arms being swapped out, because if I ever do build it, I had thought of putting white arms on her......but that doesn't sound like something I would dojustinspeed79 wrote:Just to clarify, I didn't mean to imply that yours isn't original, just that some of the ones I have seen may not have been.marlo wrote:Mine is a "NIB", but seal is broken, but the bag's have not been opened. The photobucket links must have been broken from moving files or something. I'll repost some pictures this weekend.

Here are the latest pics. Still looking for a battery box for the old Arista-Craft radio, then I will install electronics.

Looks cool, love the white trucks.
I thought they never came white with gold shocks.

Interesting, good to know. I have never seen one before this, but I do not know much about the exact history of the trucks.romulus22 wrote:I had a sports truck with black arms. The rest was white.
