CompetitionX now charging for their manuals they host

Post by GoMachV »

Went to look for one and they are now $3.50 to download. What a bunch of crap! I am always willing to let others add to my stash hosted on google drive, and they are always there for anyone in need. The link is in my sig. Dont pay $3.50 (unless its for the one I need, then share it with me  )

Unrelated, Thank you for having those documents available. It brought back memories reading those old RCCA scans you have.

Hmm weird, I just tried it and it worked now also. It was on my desktop, and now I tried on my phone. Wonder if it's only charging on a desktop?

Maybe they're going to start charging for manuals from companies that are out of business? I can't see them charging for manuals from companies that are still in business due to legal reasons. I guess we'll find out.

It sucks having to pay but as someone who has a vast experience with websites, I understand it. The costs involved with keeping a website like CompetitionX up and running is very expensive. Plus now with the advent of ad-blocking programs, it's forcing websites to implement other methods as a means to make money in order to offset the costs.

WEll the owner of the comx website built it himself. remember watching him build the original and do some work from the Fountain Valley Hobby people sales computer.

but he i think si also in charge of RC drivers website. and its kinda a side business of his.
