making a new gear cover look oldish

Post by pedro »

this only takes a few minutes and you have a new gear cover that looks much more like an old school one

its just a very cheap hobby grade sand blaster that I have used and i have done both sides but you might want to try just doing the inside first and seeing how it looks as if you get too heavy handed it very easy to make the outer surface really dull.

That looks good. I had thought about doing that as well in my glass bead cabinet, but it think the media will be too abrasive and will probably etch it way too much.

Oh, no! "Relicing" has come to RC.

(look in any guitar forum for a myriad of strong opinions on the concept of relicing re-issue guitars...)

So cool mate. I thought about trying to scuff one up a little to see what it came out like but never got around to it.. You would probably see the scratches though so this is a great way to get it done right.. Nice mate
