Yes, the Mid and Optima uses the same gear drive rear diff half, so it's a straight swap.al.48 wrote:Can you not use half optima diff with sg25??

Re: HELP optima turbo ?
Although the opposing halves will physically bolt together--the screw holes are in the same position--they won't seal together properly. I just tried this now; the toothed half doesn't properly seat onto the Mid's gear half, and neither will the belt half seat properly onto the original Optima gear half. Furthermore, the Mid's gear is significantly wider than the regular Optima's gear.terry.sc wrote:Yes, the Mid and Optima uses the same gear drive rear diff half, so it's a straight swap.al.48 wrote:Can you not use half optima diff with sg25??

Re: HELP optima turbo ?
Looks like a great project car, not too much missing...obviously missing a set of shocks, and the front end needs the stabilizer assembly, bumper brace and shock tower...the front "chin" skidplate looks like it's not bent much, so that's fortunate. They're almost always bent on used cars. The rear shock tower looks straight too, those are also almost always bent. You also see used cars missing the gearbox cover. It doesn't look like it'll be too much work to bring that car back up to speed.

Re: HELP optima turbo ?
I have a soft spot for these, as one was my first RC car ever, with the stock box art body. Man, I wish I still had it now. That was back when I could go down to the local hobby shop and pick up a belt conversion kit. Ahhh, the good old days. As such, I love seeing build threads on them.

try hosting on photobucket.com and when you post the pix they'll be bigger on here. But otherwise if anyone is interested in the big picture they can just click on it and they get a rather large picture to look atal.48 wrote:, wish I didn't have to reduce pics as much to upload.
