I was at the memorial in December 2013, but the museum was not open yet. I was fascinated by what I could see in through the windows. Thank you for sharing what you could of the inside.

When I get States side, this is Number 2 on my list of places to go

(incase you are wondering, number 1 is to actually get past customs)

I can still remember when it happened.

New Zealand was just waking up when it all happened and all the news channels were playing US coverage.

was the quietest day in Wellington (New Zealands Capital) that I can ever remember

We were in NYC a couple years ago and saw the memorial. I was bummed out that the museum wasn't opened yet.

What a horrible thing to watch unfold, I remember it vividly.

was in the states last June/July, it was unbelievable in its scope/size, very well done and very moving.
Being in this part of the world we are detached from the problems from those days, unfortunately it is starting to catch up with us here in Australia/Pacific and we are starting to see the ugly side of the world.
Ed when you go you will need to brace your self for customs, it is a disaster  Hours to get through, and when you do you are met with a 150Kg Monster with no personality at all, just don't say that you are a Kiwi, they only like Aussies

Ed, don't worry. Us everyday real Americans welcome New Zealanders. We know (by the actions of your country) that you don't take sh*t from anybody! 8)

Great pictures and information. Now I wish I had had time to go in the museum when I was there last year for a business trip. Still I was glad I was able to stop by if only for a brief visit.

I thought I would bump this thread today for any newer members that may not have seen it.

15 years later........

Last night I was watching a few 9/11 shows (History channel and such). I have to say, the footage of that day is staring to look old. I never really got that feeling until yesterday. 15 years doesn't seem like a long time, but it really is. One thing is for sure, the feelings of that day don't really change. Obviously the shock has gone away, but you're still left with the anger and sadness.

I remember that morning very well, what I was doing, what I heard through the media, what I said to people, etc.

You guys from the US, if you only knew how on the other side of the Atlantic, we all were shocked just as you were. So far away... but so close in the heart.

I still have this bright clear memory: driving back from work (11 am your time) on my daily routine and noticing how all cars and drivers were just like robots: not the usual busy, aggressive or rush, nobody staring at each others, eyes opened but seeing nothing, people were just shocked and driving listening to radio and lost in their own thoughts. No fear though.

That has been seen for almost A WEEK ! Time was suspended in daily lives. People acting like robots.

I never experienced that again in despite, as we all know, other terrible things happened since. Nothing EVER was comparable to the emotion worldwide of this treacherous attack.

Thank you for sharing. Will definitively go visit next time I fly there.
