I'm glad for this contest because it spurred me on to complete my build...I needed the motivation to finish it.
The early results are not unexpected...the site membership has always strongly favored accurate restos, replicas and period-correct everything; not modifying or modernizing. I'm glad I got more than one vote, because that means someone other than me voted for my car.
PlastiZap's car is a beautiful example indeed, and I'm also amazed by the incredible paint on RC10th's car.

It's the level of detail and cleanliness in his builds that makes him untouchable. He is the Marlo of pan cars
His modernized build would have still rocked the competition. It's not about old vs new
I got one pity vote but my personal vote is cast elsewhere
I would have voted for this modernized version of his too

it's the attention to detail that's striking indeed. The other builds are great (except Coelacanth's) but Plastizaps' is just killing it. Kinda like the retro-ized b44 from last month, it's an unbelievably complete package.

(PS: I did have second thoughts... PRP's Neisinger replica is also rocking my boat big time!)

That Nessinger paint scheme has always been a favorite of mine. Love those colors.

It wasn't a pity vote. I have a particular liking for your body. Er, the car body.gomachv wrote:

It's the best 1/12 painted body in my own collection

Thanks guys! I'm humbled by the show of support for my entry. All the cars are really great including the unrestored ones. Very cool to see the different ideas of the builders. I'm still undecided on who I'll vote for just yet, but I've narrowed it down to four that I'll have to decide between.
Anyway, it isn't over until..........

I started to put that car in, I thought the 12i had a better chance though. I'll have to enter that car the next time around. It was supposed to be a runner yet I haven't been able to bring myself to put it on the ground.gomachv wrote:

The battle for second is turning out to be quite compelling!

A very nice line up of cars indeed
From beautiful paint works, to a possible race history car, to fantastic resto's, etc... I had a hard time between two cars, but I feel in the end, The right car will win
Even though, I'm not a fan of these cars, I like this competition the best.

I had no interest in these cars before I got one. It's not built yet, but now I'm a bit more motivated. This is a tough one.
