V12 finally got a RC10

Post by V12 »

Well, most guys here will know me for onroad cars but back in early 1985 I bought a RC10, my first offroad car. I run the car until the early Losi JRX2 5-link came out, then sold my RC10 at some point. I was young and needed the money

My brain seems fading sometimes but I really remember my old RC10. Chassis was the light golden version, no stamp. Front tires were 7 rib with Goodyear marking, some of the few RC10 parts I still have left. Short shocks front, also non-slotted spring cups.
Some of my offroad cars I´m not missing at all but I always wanted a RC10 again. No not the re-release thing, a real american made old RC10. Actually my search for a RC10 was not really serious, most cars also were far away from what I wanted. But at some point it had to happen, two weeks ago I found a RC10. Small pictures you hardly could see any details, the seller then send me larger pics and after some thinking had to grab her.

The seller told me he got the RC10 as a birthday present as a very young guy. Included was a Andy's truck conversion kit http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=38124 so this RC10 was built as a truck. Some buggy parts as wheels, tires, A-arms never were used. Even the truck was run just one or two times, so there are no real scratches at the bottom of chassis and you can´t really notice any signs of wear. Scratches could be found at the inside of the chassis, from removing the ESC. The good thing is battery or ESC will hide this.

Chassis is of the darker golden colour, also the spring cups are slotted. Beside this very close to my old RC10 back in 1985.

I also got the kit box, but the cover was removed completely so you can't see if Edinger or Cadillac.
Some dust and remainings of double-sided tape needs removing, otherwise quite perfect conditon.

Rear arm mounts are on backwards. I don't know why my eyes always go right to them to check. Please forgive my OCD. lol

OK what´s the facts for being a Cadillac, no Edinger? For this RC10.

Thanks, will change the arm mounts when cleaning. Didn´t notice, I´m too excited about the find.

Team Associated on the tires, large shock cap gaskets, notched spring cups.
