Re: xx-4 winter project
Alright, here it is. Just needs some electronics and some other adjustments. Here's where it'll stay for a while. I finally bolted down those wheels so I don't have to take it into the hobby shop.
EDIT: I think I figured out why I like this car. It actually looks like a buggy. All the new 4WD buggies don't taper towards the front...aside from the new 22-4, I think. Also, I'm still having a problem with these cab-forward bodies. We've deviated so far from a buggy with a semi-realistic cockpit to these alien-insectoid-Frankenstein monstrosities. Me no like.

Re: xx-4 winter project
Quick update for those restoring a XX-4 now or when you find this thread in a search:
JC Wheels still sells wheels that fit without any modifications. Only black and yellow are available.
Also, TLR spurs work with this car which are still widely available. Funny story, I went to the LHS and asked for a spur gear for a XX-4. Remember in the movies when someone would walk into a bar and ask something that seemed normal, then everyone would stop and turn around, then a fork would drop on a table? That's what happened when I asked.
