losi xx?

Post by joshco84 »

I am looking to start racing a stock buggy class here locally, and am wanting to run an rc10. However i keep coming across pretty nice losi xx buggies for quite a bit less money, and would make a cheaper starter car for me.

How hard are parts to find for it is my biggest concern

The XX handles great but it is fragile compared to modern cars and parts can potentially be hard to find.

If you find them cheap, then just buy an extra rolling chassis (or two) and then you'll have plenty of spares to keep you going. Dan also runs a great website for hard to find and vintage parts here....

It will depend on how moderen the rest of the racers are and how serious you are about competing. If your interested in Losi I would suggest the XXX. As someone already mentioned, the XX is a great handling car, and can still hold its own in competent hands. However you have to remember it is a "vintage" car, it's more fragile, and parts are not always easy to find. A XXX is the next gen after the XX and is a bit more robust, and it's also not expensive. Parts are more abundant, and you may even find some at your LHS.

I'm assuming that you're over there as opposed to over here and that that is a dollar price? Pics will be good......we love pics! :D
