What is a SRB Taipan???

Post by tiger1 »

I heard of this SRB Taipan buggy.

My understanding is SRB modified. Why is it called Taipan?

How do we define a Taipan buggy???

The Taipan was an RC car made by Pitstop RC cars and accessories in Sydney Australia that was based on the Tamiya SRB platform incorporating many aftermarket parts from CRP, MIP and RCH..

I understand that the gear case of these cars had "Taipan" engraved into them, although I have never seen one myself....

750 in the 80s...., may be many consider that price tag a rip off?? .... do we have a buggy in 21st century at that price?

$750 in 80's dollars was pricey but by the time you ordered all those parts and spent countless hours building and refining the chassis, you would have probably spent more than that.

What do you think made the rc10 so popular? Not having to buy a kit, and continually modify it with the flavors of the week! It wasn't uncommon to spend crazy amounts to keep up
