TL01 SHELBY GT350R DONE!
well i this is my 3rd hpi shelby gt350 body, but something about this body i just couldnt get right. i hope this time i do. well i had my tl01 car on ebay for some time now with no bids so since i had this body i though lets try this again. wanted to give it a more r model feel so i cut out the front valance for the brake ducts (which got rid of those bumperets)and the radiator and cut out some side louver covers out of thin plastic. next got the wheels moved out as far as i could with wheel spacers. will have to adjust the rear arms so they line up in the middle better. have some detail stickers for more detail fot the r model look. would love to cut out the bumpers, but i think that wont work out too well so their staying. for now its good got it down low just need 2 more tires/wheels for the other side and paint.

I like this idea! Should look pretty sweet once you are done. The HPI wheels will look really nice on there too. Are you going with the 31mm all the way around or going with the 26mm up front?

Re: TL01 SHELBY GT350R
well i just got my new hpi mustang gt coupe body. just needed it for the side scoops and rear valence since the gt didnt have the bumperets. i figured out that if u cut out the side of the body and just turned it around, it makes the perfect shelby side scoop. just a shame the rest of the body is useless now. going to keep it for plastic filler peices if i ever need and put the sticker sheet on ebay

Re: TL01 SHELBY GT350R
well i got my clear lexan in the mail today so i mounted my inter parts. i went with the driver from the ramtech porsche i think he fits better than a 1/10 scale driver. the one i had was from the tamiya monster beetle and he just looked to big for inside the car.

hum as far as the driver might cut down the 1/10 one i have and make it a little shorter might work better so he sits lower in the car. cut the 1/10 one down lower much better

I like the idea. Have you had a look at the drivers for the HPI Mini Trophy truck? They might be the rights size as it is a 1/12th scale...
