Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
I've installed this but haven't had much time to play it, I purchased a cheap controller from hobby king with the dsc port and that seems to work pretty well as a controller.
Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
If they ever get some 2wd buggies on there I will think much more of it but for now it is just OK.

Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
I can't wait for 8th scale buggies, supposed to be out soon. I will also take 2WD buggy or trucks as well.
To me even with the cost of another receiver (I just use the one I have) it still seems worth it. I also used my Logitech Rumblepad 2 (similar to a PS2/3 controller) as well, for those who prefer stick type controllers is another option.
A two year sub (which does seem pricey at $280) is less than $12 month. That could be one race fee and there's no driving to the track, waiting for your race, cost of broken parts, charging batts, having to corner marshal, and not to mention cost of an actual kit. The price doesn't seem so bad. Another benefit is gaining better throttle/steering control and learning more about setup.
I subbed for 3 months at a time and earned points so they let you keep what you buy/earn even when your sub runs out.
Worth a look at least.

Anyone else have an opinion? I am surprised the votes are all the same.

Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
I purchased the USB plug and have the free demo I got with my B5 kit, but have not been able to use it yet. I'm hoping I will be back in my house soon and then I will set it up. It looks like a cool game!
I would love to know, with the RX to USB adapter, can you play Gran Turismo on your PS3 with your RC radio?

Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
Anyone playing this yet? I'm not sure how it was originally released, but you can play it for free with a basic set of tracks and spec vehicles which is all I'm using. I'm running Spec Shortcourse and have purchased a couple tracks only. With the exception of buying the receiver USB adapter ($13), there aren't any required costs. You could actually use the keyboard and not spend a dime, but I can't imagine it would be that good with the keyboard. Anyway, post your real names if you're registered and actively play it. Maybe we could do some RC10Talk events.

Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
I've been playing it off and on. I havent bought anything extra at all.
If you have a transmitter with a dsc plug and adaptor (FlySky GT3B comes this way-with plug), you already have what you need to run for free...no adaptor needed.

Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
I just got done yesterday doing the weekly race at Mike's 1. Finished in the bottom end of the 3rd heat which I guess is decent for not having raced anything on a real track in 20 years or so.

Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
Was just watching this RC documentary:
At 6:07 he says he played the Silver Dollar track on VRC-Pro many times. I went looking to see what VRC-Pro is. It's a free RC sim with IFMAR tracks. I have Realflight simulator for Heli's, figured I'd try this, it's free. While it's downloading I figured I'd ask in here to see if anyone has used this before?

Re: VRC Pro Review - Game Play
This sim was just updated on 11/17/23 to include crawlers and bashers.
Just raced with someone out there, the AE SC10 4X4 class, was a lot of fun when the racing got close to the other guy. I'm using an X Box controller, and set it up throttle/brake on the Y axis, and steering on X axis - normal two-stick radio configuration, the way my '84 Frog was setup.
The F2 button puts the camera behind the car, instead of from your POV in the stands, which is easier and more fun that way but then it's a game, not a racing sim.
I voted Love it, great for a free sim, all kinds of options if you do buy in, and doesn't require much to get started. The adapter they sell to use your own radio is cool too, if I get into this more, I may have to get that.
Classes available.

I'm Green Bar0n in there, too.
