Something Different

Post by EvilAsh »

I have this RC10 with a few parts I've never seen before. I assume most are homemade, but I know I've seen the plastic shock bodies before. Can anyone Identify them? Thanks

Phin was thinking SRS on the thread I started for that car. Did you win the truck too?

Wow thanks, I completely missed that thread. I didn't bid on the truck and I didn't think the car would go that high. The arms have RAETECH INC PHX AZ stamped on them. I searched and found this about RaeTech "CNC precision machining for the Aerospace, Defense and Medical industries for over 30 years. Very competitive in pricing for quantities of 5 to 1000 pieces."

Interesting! I wouldn't have expected any identification. Phin is really good with this kind of info, maybe he has heard of them

Never heard of 'em. :P

Shocks look like the SRS machined delrin shocks I have, but given the manufacturer of the arms I wouldn't be surprised if they're made by the same machinist.

If Raetech Inc. is still around then your best source of info is an email to them. Make sure to ask if the email can be directed to someone that's been there since the early 90's. ;)

Just went looking at the advertisers list of the RCCA scans in gomachv's sig and found a listing for RaeTech in the May 1993 issue. Unfortunately pg160 is not in the scans. :|

Don't seem to have been heavy advertisers as the only other issue they seem have an ad in is this one in December 1992:

Thanks guys for the great information. I thought that RaeTech sounded familiar. I'll take some better pictures and post today or tomorrow.

Yeah I'd definitely like to know more too. They give me the same feel that Daryl Lane's custom A&L cars do. Especially the truck with it's Losi steering cranks. Might be they were built and raced as Raetech team cars.
