Re: Tony Stewart
I don't.
Why would tony feel the need to roost him? Tonys the one that took him to the wall.
The kid was the only one pissed
Who knows. Rumor has it Tony had a GoPro so maybe we will know more.

Re: Tony Stewart
Insight from a crew member on Chuck Hebing's 45 car, who was directly in front of Tony.

Re: Tony Stewart
Plus he was in a black driving suit. So sad, nonetheless a stupid move to get out of your car to vent your anger. I don't like TS but I'm sure this was an accident.

Re: Tony Stewart
apparently there is another video of the wreck but it hasnt changed anybody.
i really dont know how these cars drive but the way one of the drivers put it is its like driving a boat, to make that car change paths requires the throttle going. just turning the wheel wont do much w/o the throttle to push it.
roosting the guy may have just been tony'd late attempt to avoid him.

Roosting would have occurred after he went byDMAT wrote:apparently there is another video of the wreck but it hasnt changed anybody.

If it were any no name driver it would be over by now. Just an accident. Unfortunately everyone is now an expert and will lead to Tonys demise

Re: Tony Stewart
Even the roosting idea seems far fetched (to me) I've seen bowling ball size pieces of NY clay get tossed 35' in the air when cars are on the cushion, and cause concussions when they hit bystanders, photographers, vol fireman at the tracks. I've taken a softball size chunk of clay to the chest on a MX start (missed shift left me at the very end of the pack on a start) and that was with a roost guard and it still almost knocked me off the bike

Re: Tony Stewart
edit: rewatched video, i was way off, whole car hit him. on a side note, there was only 1.7 seconds or so between the 45 car passing ward and tony hitting him. is that enough time to even dodge the kid?
also. ouch charlie

Re: Tony Stewart
One theory going around is that he was trying to grab the top wing. If he could have grabbed it he could have damaged it, causing Tony hardship the rest of the race. Of course that is just one theory. We will never know what the kid had on his mind
Re: Tony Stewart
I don't think he would have grabbed the top wing as sheet metal would have left his hand a bloody mess (that is if it wasn't cut off).

Racing gloves should take care of that problem.Dirtdiver wrote:I don't think he would have grabbed the top wing as sheet metal would have left his hand a bloody mess (that is if it wasn't cut off).

Re: Tony Stewart
yeah ive watched that video again and read ALOT of peoples comments.
so… i'll retract my kneejerk reaction that tony intentionally tried to roost the kid and accidentally killed him.

I don't think racing gloves are going to save your hands from a piece of sheet metal attached to a moving 1475lb sprintcar.
