Wow, this is info that I never knew about before. Do you know of any pics that show these mods?tamiyadan wrote: the brake worked via the Yellow wire which caused a resistor feedback loop this was used in slot cars for years. this was the original ciruit for reverse which is rewired in the 4 speed setup, the motor is a generator when moving without power applied so you would use the free power it made to induce a feedback loop the resistor acted as load and slowed the car down faster then just coasting. some guys used to mod MSCs back in the day and cut the yellow wire and install an adjustable resistor on another return circuit.
they would also modulate the power to the motor with a 555 timer chip which pulsed the motor power just like a ESC thus the motor ran cooler and you gained battery efficiency all kinds of cool MSCs tricks back in the day.
