Sweet...
It cost too much but with tower coupons and easy pay, ima have to get one. Always thought that FS rear suspension with oil res bottle was cool.
I'm sorry, but when I see how much Tamiya is raping people with their prices, considering how many parts are derived from other re-re models not to mention their old molds, all I can do is shake my head when comparing that to what Kyosho did with the Scorpion re-re & pricing. It's shameless.
I read somewhere that the reason for the high prices are: the gear box is now made from forged aircraft aluminium, the gears are light weight and titanium coated running on hollow carbon shafts, new ball diff with ceramic bearings adjustable from the outside, and there is an ingenious slipper to boot.
Looks like original rear bumpers and spring arms will still be hard to source as they are clearly different on the new buggy but happy to see the grey front bumper will be available.
If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.
Tamiya has 2 part numbers for the Fighting Buggy: 47304 and 84389. The latter appears to be discontinued, but the 47304 is still in production. Did they underestimate demand for these things and start making more?

When the Fighting Buggy was first released, I was led to believe that it was a limited release..
Maybe it has been more popular than initially thought, and Tamiya has re-re released it under the new part number..

I bought this car about 8 or 9 yrs ago and it's about 90% complete. The guy who sold it to me rebuilt it as a shelf queen. All of the parts are IMMACULATE, including the inside of the gearbox. The gears and shocks have never been oiled/ greased....

Cool! Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure and use cement. I assume I can paint over it after it's fully dried and sanded?

Good SC project - the rear bumper is broken on 70% of cars, the odd one comes up on ebay or there are reproductions. The decals and body are the hardest to find, a decent body can fetch as much as a complete car. Keep the body for the shelf and get...
When I was around 8, my cousin had a Super Champ and it really blew me away. It was so fast, full of metal, in fact it was too fast for my cousin to control and it hit my eldest brother until his toes were bleeding....Ever since then my impression...
