B3 help, or maybe it's a B2, but guy in store said B3 lol
B3 help, or maybe it's a B2, but guy in store said B3 lol
Well, I'm kinda bummed out, I took out my RC10, bought some new NiMH hump packs, a new charger and off I went.
Now, I was told by the local hobby guy that my car will be incredibly difficult to get parts for and I believe him.
It's a B3 (maybe B2) i don't know the difference really, how can I tell?
Anyways, the other day I was taking it for a light spin across the parking lot and front left wheel collapsed.
Now I'm assuming the part is called a "knuckle", I'll post a picture, since I need help finding the right piece.
If it is the knuckle, I found this place and hope this is the right part for it.
Also, I need a new front shock tower as mine cracked on the left side.
Any suggestions?
Last and most importantly, is it worth buying these parts and replacing them?
I mean if other things start to go, it's like in real life (reality), cars are the worst investment and I don't want to keep pumping money into it if I can avoid it.
I simply want a car I can boot around with, not competitively (yet, maybe one day, dunno), but for know, something to kick around and have fun with.
However, what vehicle from associated would take a hump pack? I was looking at the B4.2 but it looks like a flat pack, saddle type set up.
Help and/or suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Would this be the right thing to order for the knuckle?

Based on info in other threads, the tower is a B3 tower (B2 has only two shock and one camber
hole) and B3 spindles (B2 used older style blocks and arms). For the parts you need, B3
The rpm steering arms should be great. For a Tower, you want this one (or an equivalent)
Fiberlyte will make them for you, otherwise you will need to locate one. They are out of production and I don't see any on eBay

I went to Hobby Hobby, was told by someone other than Tim, he was very knowledgeable for sure.
Maybe I'll go back and talk to Tim, love that guy, total energy burst, hope he doesn't drink coffee, he certainly doesn't need it. lol
Gomachv, thanks for the post, saved the file to my phone.

There's plenty of replacement parts. They're just under a different name. Thunder tiger bought out Team Associated and they still sell a buggy based almost 100 percent on the B3.

there's a few a differences but all the things that commonly brake seem to be a direct fit. I've replaced suspension arms, hub carriers, castor blocks, steering blocks, shock towers, wheels, battery hold down straps, and suspension arm mounts. All direct fits. The shock tower, though, isn't nearly as stiff as the stock B3 tower. That should make it less prone to breaking though. If you're able to find actual B3 parts, stick to those as they seem to be slightly more durable.

Rootdown, thanks for the link and info, much appreciated and good to know.
I may also consider getting a B4.2 down the line, I just have an affinity towards the buggy.
For now I managed to order parts from the local shop (Hobby Hobby), the only thing they couldn't get was the shock tower, but someone (teman, thanks
) kindly PM'd me a link to an eBay retailer.

For the record, you have a RC10B3 Team Kit. The manual for part numbers: http://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/cars_and_trucks/RC10B3/Team/b3_manual.pdf
