History: My first RC car in my early teens was a Tamiya Grasshopper while my cousin had the Frogger. My second was the Tamiya Monster Beetle. Unfortunately no pics of these that I've found.
I had saved a lil' money and gotten better with driving my RC cars and decided to buy a used, but new in the box RC10 (hadn't been built yet), and give the local track a try. I bought a lower cost Airtronics remote, ESC and Revolution modified and ran in the dirt oval class. All this of course on a part-time "grocery bagging" and "weekend tobacco field" pay in the mid to late 80's. Anywho, needless to say, I fell in love with it from the get go and was at the track quite frequently.
After a few years of racing, my car transformed into a few different rides. Even my uncle that I was able to get somewhat addicted to RC's was my pit guy and eventually got me into RC planes. After marriage, a family and career goals, the ol' RC took a spot in a storage bin for quite some time. Surprised any of it made it?
My brother recently sparked the bug in me again and wanted to get into Nitro cars, and what better way to spend time with friends and family than driving some RC cars! We both ended up buying Slayer Pros and have been having a blast. My 8yr old son decided to put down the video games and join us a few times. I reluctantly let him drive my stadium truck that I was certain would meet it's doom with him behind the wheel, but hey, I thought it was worth the risk to get him out of the house and maybe enjoy this awesome past time as well. He actually did great! I guess the video game racing helped!
So.... needless to say he wanted an RC car... so I thought, I've got the perfect beginner car for you that is just collecting dust!! And so our venture begins!!
