The rockumentary, Beyond The Lighted Stage, is partly based on Peart's journey after suffering some family tragedies, and more generally about the band Rush...one of the best documentaries I've seen in a good while. I read a book of a similar but solo journey written by Neil Peart.
You might suggest (if they have time) that they visit the Museum of Anthropology, the pyramids at Teotihuacan (the Sun Pyramid is the third largest in the world and it's well worth stepping up to the top for some great pictures) and the botanical gardens are also worth a visit if they want to relax and unwind a bit. What I liked most about D.F. is that it's a totally different experience than the beach & palm trees, surrounded-by-tourists one, which can get a little old. You really get a taste of the local culture.
