Okay, thanks! I'm really looking forward to the race.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

I just have a few questions, as I'm building up my short arm for Classic class. I've asked these before, right before you disappeared for a while, so please forgive me for being a pest.
Is cutting of the chassis permitted? Is it the kind of thing that's "technically" okay, but is frowned upon?
How about the A&L bellcrank?
Thanks!
I agree, less ambiguous rules makes for more fair and fun racing. I'm looking forward to attending this year.

Do we have to contact the raceway to find out what time they open on Friday?

I also posted on Facebook, but I'll post here, too... The website doesn't appear to be working...
I'll be a new addition to the field if I can make it down there!
I just got a (practically brand new) XX-4 the other day, too... I'm trying to decide if I'd want to run it.
I've also got a Futaba FX:10 with the Classic class's name written all over it

I was excited seeing the outdoor venue the past couple years and was hoping to make it there this year. Looks like it's back to the indoor hardpacked surface again?
Always a great event though!

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

I sold my XX-4 runner car, and all my spare parts went with it. Not sure if I want to run my XX-4 WE or not.stickboy007 wrote:Westerfield has a XX4 and he's wicked fast. If you're not afraid, you should be.

Hmmm...would the XX-4 WE be legal? It's from 1997, right? Just wondering if this rule update on the XX-4 applies to all versions or the original XX-4 only.

WE is fine. There were improvements made but it was the same care otherwise and you'd be a fool not to do some of the changes to a normal xx4 anyway. That and they both came out after 94... wasn't really the point of letting it in and the mark as to move at some point. I'm just doing it slowly (and have a plan for down there road too
)

Re: 2014 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 5-7TH - WOLCOTT HO
I am getting more and more excited every day
For someone who knows the venue... what sort of tires would work on this? I race indoor clay already, but I just wasn't sure if this was maybe a different sort of track than the norm, or what.
I am building up a ThunderShot for the Classic class! (that would be considered an "entry-level" vehicle, right? That's what I figured.)
Mamba max, Futaba low-profile servo, TRF shocks, sway bars, fixing the horrendous rear progressive-camber issue... I smell some burning rubber!
(It IS okay to mod cars like this, right? That's what I got from what I've read so far, but I could always put it back if you aren't supposed to do that much...)

Pro-line Suburbs M4 in the rear
Pro-line Scrubs M4 in front (but these were discontinued so I have to find out what everybody is using now)

Classic is a handout motor class so no need for the mamba and yes m4 suburbs are best there.
