My Box Art JRxPro, JRx2, and JRx2 Trade Show Bodies!!

Post by XxRONNxX »

I had these original bodies painted by Mr. Gary Kyes who also painted many of the early box art bodies including the original JRx2 and JRxPRO. I'll post pictures as soon as I find the time to trim them, mount them up, and apply the original decals. Special thanks to Gary and his son Ken for the bodies.

Here's pictures of Gary Kyes that I found on the internet.

Those are really nice bodies, probably even much nicer in real life! And all together makes then look even better.

Does anybody know is there any history for that purple-yellow body. I have seen it a few time here and there but never in ad's or any other "official" pictures?

Interesting detail is that white-gray Jrx2 that Gary is holding is not the same body/car as (I thought myself first) in Team Losi ad from the 1989, see the ad here: http://www.vintagelosi.com/Ads.html "Losi Jrx2 Motors Tires Ad". EDIT: Or maybe it is THE body, it is just missing one small Relovution sticker behind front wheel.

Those bodies are beautiful. How recently did he paint those for you?

He painted them last month. I saw his eBay auctions for the bodies and read the description. Saw that they offer painting services so I inquired. His son still has the auctions going so it isn't too late. If I had another decent JRx2 roller, I'd do either the body he's holding in the picture or the instruction manual/box art runner up body. :D

Beautiful. Where is the ebay ad you speak of offering services?

Those are definitely really cool paint jobs! I'm also curious to take a peak at the ad for the paint services.

Thanks for sharing!
