Took the TQ and easy win with the GT-E, out of nine cars/trucks; and would have turned in a time good for 4th out of 16 in the 1/8 nitro buggy.
No trouble with gear mesh, though I bought a little piece of angle aluminum to brace up the motor/trans area.

Even though it was a new chassis, do with it what you want. You might give another member ideas on what to do with his USED GT.

Justinspeed is correct, the black tubs for the GT's really don't bring much in the new/unused condition.

The red head CV's were a very good power plant for the GT's. No they didn't last long, but they were cheap. I ran a CVR in a GT and felt it had an abrupt power band that would overcome the rear traction easily. The best mill I used was an older OS CZ-Z. It had the smoothest power band of any of the .12's I had ever run in gas truck.

You know I have seen a few other e- conversions done on the GT and GT2 but I have to say yours is the cleanest. Dare I say it almost looks factoryish. Nice ride, take it to the next level.

another tub conversion! too cool...now if we could run em heads up!!

i was thinking super long and hard with mine to not have gear mesh issues, just too much flex in that area that you really have to tie the trans into a motor mount , was thinking just a regular motorplate and drill it to fit the gt trans, but still needs to be tied to the chassis, than the 10L mount but i didnt like the idea of turnbuckles crosssing everywhere, i started making my own but gave up when i found a much easier and faster solution..

either way, cool retrofit, i hope more people do this and maybe stadium truck racing will come back on a club level and be fun... maybe not the most modern tech but man, racing all day and never having to replace an arm, worry about snapping a shock tower, trying to find outdrives and diff gears, or having to shell out for countless upgrades to up durability of a modern kit is priceless!!!!
