Re: Shodog's Garage Clear Out
Still chugging away on this project. I shuffled the shelving around and was able to fit my tool box where I wanted it right next to my work bench.

I started to display my NIB kits on the top shelf of the shelving units. Once I get the third unit in on the south wall I'll be able to finish displaying the kits.

That looks outstanding! I am glad to see I'm not the only one with dust issues. Have you thought about hanging a plastic "curtain" or something in front of the shelving to mitigate some of the dust?

Re: Shodog's Garage Clear Out
I've hung sheets in front of the shelving but it only offers limited protection from dust. Considering that most these cars haven't been dusted off in five or six years, they are doing quite well. They would probably get dustier inside the house. My strategy is to clean all the cars really well then bag them up along with a 8 unit desiccant pack to absorb moisture.

Massive effort there Jim! Congrats! I also struggle now and then with space and procrastination when it comes to the shop. A few banners, posters and a good light on the bench and your off to go! Keep us posted.

Re: Shodog's Garage Clear Out
I can finally say all major operations are over. I am just dealing with small organizational issues. I have been thinking about how I wanted to do this garage clean up for years now so I'm very happy with the way it has turned out. Now that I can access everything, I can start to get rid of all of the projects I'll probably never get to and focus in on the ones I do.

Now all my odd size boxes can be stored in consistent sized boxes.

Now my workbench is on the opposite side of the garage from my display shelf. This will minimize dust from getting on them. All of my supplies are within easy reach on shelving above my workbench.

All of the boxes I access the most can be stored right behind my work bench

Last but not least is my snap on clock. This cheesy clock served its purpose well where it replaced an expensive mirror that hung over the fireplace mantel that ex-wife saw fit to take. We she saw the clock hanging there, she let out a disgusted sigh.

Re: Shodog's Garage Clear Out
Very organized and looks so much better now.
Nice 5B, and I like the labels on the boxes for sale. This will make life in the garage much more enjoyable. Do you plan to insulate and cover the walls at some point?
I saw a 5th scale car on a bottom shelf with a bike in front of it, what car and specs?
Sweat equity paying off, love it. I need to buy a house.

Re: Shodog's Garage Clear Out
Wow - I'm seriously impressed with the scope and number of vehicles you have! And my wife thinks I have a lot, lol. I almost bought a rere Hotshot the other day but decided I better build the World's RC10 and B5M first or I'll get the 'what do you need another car for?' speech!
Great work looks amazing!
