Take the dialect test, mostly relevant for people in US
A friend told me about this quiz and how interesting it was, thought I would pass it along.

There were some strange ones in here that I had never heard of, but I think generally my results showed that the test was confused by my answers. Why? I was born in GA and lived there through elementary schol, then grew up in Delaware, then spent a few years in Indiana, then 8 years in Chicago, and now live in Minnesota.
If you take the test, post up some of your responses or what it guessed about where you grew up.

I'm roughly where the black dot is and the darker the red, the closer to where they believe you are located according to your answers so I'd say it's pretty accurate.

Interesting, my map wasn't the exact area but I think some of the questions have more than one answer.

Mine was close! If it had any bicycle questions it would have nailed me to Portland lol!

Oops, yes, I should have posted mine. I did grab a screenshot luckily. Like I said, I think it was very confused since I've lived in a few areas.

Dialect map from the capital of Alberta
Here's the map of a western Canadian, though I'm not sure how typical it is. Apparently my usage of the word "sneakers" for gym shoes indicates I could be from Buffalo/Rochester, and "kitty corner" puts me at Seattle. I'm near Edmonton, Alberta--north of the western half of Montana--so I'm not sure if that has any bearing on the weird color map I got.

Re: Take the dialect test, mostly relevant for people in US
I'm in Logistics which involves me talking to our agencies in every part of the U.S. and Canada all day every day for the past 14+ years so I find this interesting. For instance if I'm talking to someone in the New England area they may have trouble understanding me due to my "southern draw". When I talk to people in the deep south they have trouble understanding me because of my "northern" accent.
It also never ceases to amaze me how all of the regional personality stereotypes hold up. Some areas are overly-rude, some overly-nice and then others are just plain dumb...
I won't go into details so not to offend anyone because even though there may be trends it is still certainly far from 100% accurate.

Mine was fairly close, central CA, I'm from San Diego. Lived in the South and TX for about 13 years combined though, so I have to think that may have thrown it off a bit with some of the sayings and words I picked up during that time.

Although it did guess my location correctly I do not accept the results of this test because it also suggested I might be from New Jersey.

I'd say it was pretty confused...From Phoenix, moved to SoCal almost 30 years ago, havent been anywhere else. It guess Fresno, Albuquerque or Louisville? Pretty big spread of distance there.
