Team car question

Post by RC10th »

I've been restoring my first Team Car I had since new and as all RC10's, mine has evolved over the years with parts getting swapped and changed. Unfortunately my dad threw away the box and manual many years ago but somehow I managed to keep the parts catalog.

My question is which front axles and steering blocks are correct? I remember them being the round aluminum inline axles but the parts catalog shows a stealth graphite and CE with inline hex axles.

In line 6217 block, 6218 axle in the CE catalog (in line listed for BC chassis... hex axles listed for ABC chassis). I trust the Team Car is the same.

I found and dowloaded the right manual which shows inline hex axles, same part numbers you listed. The parts catalog is CE which is strange showing a stealth graphite, I was under the impression that they never did a graphite stealth.

Is it possible or can anyone confirm an addendum for #6220 axles and #6221 steering blocks for the team car?

Yes, late team, late CE and worlds had them. It was a running change. I have a very late team with black parts and a worlds bulkhead even. Associated made many running changes

The CE catalog I refer to is #10PL November 1990. I found a copy of a later catalog, #10PL June 1995 with in line 6217 block, 6218 axle now listed for B chassis only, 6220 axle, 6221 block listed for CDE chassis.

I ended up going the #6220/#6221 route as that's what I remember.

i think the 6220/6221 combo came around along with the new rear arms with the shorter hinge pins, in my experience anyway. i haven't had a car with one and not the other. B-stamps too, team car, CE, and trucks.

This is good news as I just put new "X" braced rear arms on it.
