optima mid with strange options
I pulled this one out of the pile piece by piece. Its mostly new or near new. Has shocks from ultima rb I think,, and lazer shock towers, front universals, thorp counter gear. I think the wheels and tires belong on my celica gt4 also.

Re: optima mid with strange options
Yeah, I was thinking that belonged on my celica as well. These kind of things happen when all related cars are half stripped and heaped into the same boxes. Then years later,, some dude starts slapping em together with no instructions and only a faint memory of how they went.
In that case, Im thinking the celica gt4 is just about fully optioned,, and just needs a body. Thats good news all around!

It would be fully optioned if you had the swing bars and the carbon chassis. IIRC those and the motor mount are Kyosho parts SPW-1 to 3.rccars4sal wrote:Yeah, I was thinking that belonged on my celica as well. Re: optima mid with strange options
I got the 2 cars slightly straitened out today. The blue motor plate and black side plate on celica. Still more to do. Couldnt find the sway bars,, just the little ball ends. This mid also has a front one way diff. Thats for sure going into the celica! Both cars will get a complete tear down after I order in some parts. We will get them sorted!

Re: optima mid with strange options
Very nice! They have recently popped up on ebay,, but at high price. Im going to (eventually) just make a saddle pack chassis for the ep spider and SWB mids,, and call it good. Your picture reminds me,, got to make those shock towers and other bits in carbon too. Im wondering just how rare the tf1 or first ep spiders are. I have only ever seen 3 on line. Mine,, 1 for sale from Monogram I think, and the above pic. Got to be pretty scarce.

Re: optima mid with strange options
Very hard to find, as it seems to have been replaced by the TF-2 pretty quickly. The options seem to be more abundant.
Of course, being an Optima Mid SWB with touring car arms, some people might have turned theirs into a buggy...
