Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
do you think its a bad twilight zone episode for team associated to be re producing a buggy from yesteryear that is capable of beating their latest and greatest production buggy?

Far out no 4-40x1 inch screws for the diff/ motor plate not happy, thes things are not that easy to get in Australia. On the plus side I did get 2 spur gears. Diff feels tight as well

Have you checked all the bags? Any local hobby shop should be able to get them in, or contact Ace directly.
As for the diff did you fully tighten it and back off 1/8 turn? It will free up slightly the first time you run the car, you can also run it a bit looser as long as it doesn't slip. Just make sure the slipper slips before the diff.

Yeah mate checked all bags managed to rob 3 of the 4 from an old spare parts gold pan, , it's the binding between the gears that is tight, once a couple of packs go through it it will be ok, what part of OZ are you from mate

Great wine and lots of churchesRC10th wrote:I'm from Adelaide, not much happens here (originally from the USA)
Doing the rear bulkhead now, missing the trans screws and 1 of the pins for the dogbone doesn't line up, 1 is free as and the other is stiff.
Built a B5m earlier in the week and it went together like a dream, are both of these models produced from / in the same factory

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
My kit was missing a shock bottom cap. Had to wait a few days for a V2 shock rebuild kit before I could finish it.
Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
I built mine (well, my son's) last weekend and took it to the track. Had to ghetto-rig the top shaft, but it works. Running a Turnigy Track star 17.5 and HobbyKing X-Car 120A ESC. Build went OK aside from the shaft. Tranny loosened up quickly and ran as quiet as my B4.2 FT. Only issue was lack of damping and the steering bellcranks suck balls. I fixed the problem permanently with the JConcepts bellcrank kit. Expensive, but BEAUTIFUL!

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
Just got mine up n running.
Basically built it over the course of two evenings.....and being "a noob" I went over to the hobby shop to pick up my motor/esc and left the car there for a couple hours and had them install all the electronics.
I'm a noob in RC , but I'm early in my fourth century. Ah man, I can't even believe I'm typing that.
But I'm young at heart. ...and I think I still look young in the mirror. But how I perceive myself to look doesn't mean that others perceive me the same way. I'm not really diggin' the 20 year old hot chicks behind the counters of 7 11s referring to me as sir. ....Im not a sir.....I'm over here playing with remote control cars...
Anyway......so yeah, I tell the the brother at the hobby shop "I'll leave it up to you.....just throw a decent servo in there and a good battery"
I'm getting at this because of the mention ^^ of local hobby shops pushing Traxxas.......
I go to pick up my car n the first thing I notice is a blue waterproof box over the servo.....This looked fishy, so the first words out of my mouth were "what kind of servo is that" .....The kid that works there goes "Traxxas" .....
They defiled my Worlds car.....This is heinous.
I'm gonna have to at least pull it out and dye the sumbich black.....I just see that blue waterproof box that screams Traxxas. As far as how it works....It ain't bad, but that's not the point.
It's my fault for saying "I'll leave it up to you" .....but why throw a Traxxas servo in there when I know they have others in stock.
I got the Sidewinder/5700 kv motor in there...
Battery is a 4500 mah 90c Trinity titanium.....which I have no idea of its quality.....Like I said, I left it up to them.
.....the motor...I'm happy with that....cause I picked it. Only thing I don't like about the motor is that the only thing you see when you look at the motor can from the side is "MADE IN CHINA" .... I don't wanna see that. Stick it on the other side where it belongs....Hidden.
As far as how the car runs......Holy sh*t...Smooth, fuggedaboudit. I can't say I've driven too many RC cars, but have driven a few....It sounded....Stealth.
All you heard was air as it flew by.
Freakin awesome
Tranny was the stealth kit....not what came with the car....
Tires....what they had in stock. Dirt hawgs in the back n ribbed in the front.
Now it's time to paint it....Decisions,decisions.....
N as far as the guys at the local hobby shop....They might've defined my "car" with that Traxxas servo, but the brothers are good people.

I would have asked them to replace it with a hitec.

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit
I too had the dreaded stealth trans issue. Mine was nicks in the top shaft. I polished them out with my trusty dremel and it's smooth as silk. As I waited 20+ years to build this kit I actually enjoyed it. I will forever remember this time spent with my 7 year old daughter, and I hope she will remember it as fondly as I remember doing the same with my dad all those years ago. It's not perfect, the originals weren't either, but so much more satisfying than walking into the lhs and buying a new "kit", that only requires the addition of batteries to run. I thank you Team Associated for this trip down memory lane. And will enjoy this car with my little one for years to come. I cannot express how much I enjoy this hobby, and these great cars will always be the basis for it. Old or new, they will always be, to me, be what an r/c car should be.
I'm not like them, but I can pretend...
