dang...im just now going through the threads to check out the pics of the original stuff and they are gone...site that the pics were on is no more. snooze and lose I guess.
do you think its a bad twilight zone episode for team associated to be re producing a buggy from yesteryear that is capable of beating their latest and greatest production buggy?

Re: Very Early Prototype Associated Cars from Curtis
I always wondered what his peototype stuff in developement stages would actually be worth.I bet it would be sky high just between the guys on here tryn buy them!
But no matter how many times i look at it.It still amazes even me the thought and engineering that went into not to mention all the time invested.DON

Running the rear shocks upside down....was that the thing back then?

Yup; the o-ring seals on the prototype were bad and running the shocks upside down prevented the oil from leaking out as fast.twinrider1 wrote:Running the rear shocks upside down....was that the thing back then?

Re: Very Early Prototype Associated Cars from Curtis
As for the shocks....I've heard the seals were not the best yet then and they leaked less when mounted upside down. To the rest of the thread.....wow. Just really cool to see how the dude(s) that did it did it. A lot of attention to detail and patience. It's just frickin' rad.

Really enjoyed this thread thanks for posting always interesting to see pre production cars. Amazed how similar the prototype RC10 is to the actual car.
