RPM "truck arm" based buggy

These are the RPM Truck arms, pre 10T. I had wondered why this wasn't tried bitd, as with my measurements it put the width very close to the limit. After mocking it up, I think I see why it's 250mm wide to the edge of the wheels...EXACTLY. That's with using the narrow rear wheel hubs too. A tire that hangs over the edge of the rim would be enough to put it over.

I think I will continue the build, it's this far so why not. If truck wheels some day find their way to me I will probably convert it the rest of the way over. I would love to find a matching JG rear tower to borrow if anyone out there has one

if it's pre 10T, then that makes it n 80's car, so do like they did BITD with 1:1 trucks and stretch some low-pro skinnies on that sucker! that'll keep it within the 250mm limit!

Rc10 ce and 10t arms I get . Never seen a set of pre 10t arms before .

RPM (and JG) truck arms came out late 1990 to early 1991 and didn't really have a chance to take hold before AE unveiled the RC10T. That's why you don't see them too often.

You could use different wheel hubs (thinner) from the later yokomos to pull the wheel in a smidge.

If you are right on the limit, with olde offset rims..... How about new school rims/tires. you may be on to something here without using the wide gt axles and the negative effects of that setup.

i have them up front on one of my builds. they don't work well with b4 wheels..... too bulky along the front edge and the wheel rubs under compression and turning way before the steering is at full lock. nice for shelf duty though.

Currently as it sits it's on JC fronts for RC10 so they are original offset- and within "spec" by a hair
The rears are the later yokomo wheel offset, but yes I could go to the thinner yet hubs to help that last mm or so

Very nice! The blue anno looks sharp. I really need to build myself a proper off road buggy. After I finish up the three on road and oval cars I have going that is.

The last black tub I bought came with the same rear setup.

RPM Truck arms, Yokomo shafts and rims can´t remember the upright though.

Since mine was done like this BITD, and You´re an enthusiast - I will trade it for Your´s

interested to see it finished. my buggy is wiide in the rear. stealth conv, gt arms b3 carriers flipped and e savage cvds rarely flips sideways
