Re: All Alloy Tube Chassis (VERY VERY near completion)
i thought about making a brazed steering wheel mount originally... but what sure what to do and figure i would use a loop strap.. i think i am going to mold something from clay.. cast it in rubber, and make one out of plastic... might include some guages in there too

the metal was just too much to make for me lol.. at least the roof has a little definintion to it lol. painted with mirror chrome i thought it was good enough lol. i tryed at least 7 different metal roofs.. the flat ones looked like crap.. the ones i tryed to bend to give some definition.. came out awful.. so i went with this lol

Re: All Alloy Tube Chassis (VERY VERY near completion)
just mounted all the electronics.. used a micro spectrum, tekin fx, checkpoint 10x2, and a rock crusher airtronics servo 94361 (had to use a extension for the servo)
all went in nicely, mounted the speedo on top of HG tranny brace, the spektrum on the side of the lightsink, and it all mounted perfectly.. one thing i didnt plan to well when building was mounting the electronics.. the driver was a "late in build" decision to add, so all the electronics were going to go in the cockpit, but to maintain the look, the driver takes up the whole cockpit now...
i know pics are hard to see lol, but i put the car back together before i took pics lol

Re: All Alloy Tube Chassis (Nearing Total Completion...)
Well the only things i have left before i call this project a day,
They are to make a new front plate (going to extend it back a inch or so to give it more coverage), i fixed the servo arm and clearance so it wont rub, it was originally.
Then to mount new losi bellcranks (dont attempt to polish these things, they turn out to be a mess lol.. they actually came out ok but i have new ones i am going to leave the default finish on)..
gonna add a few vinyl cut graphic logos and stickers ("team associated" logs onside of the wing, and "Team Associated RC10" in small letters on the front plate).. and thats it!
Any Suggestions or anything are welcome, good or bad.. this project evolves all the time and ive been changing things from day 1 from the look of the side rails, to different stuctural components and parts... any ideas would be great.

Re: All Alloy Tube Chassis (Nearing Total Completion...)
Mike, I would leave it as is, maybe just fix the small "engineering" details. One thing I don't understand: if you don't plan to run it, why putting in the expensive and modern electronics?
