Hi from the UK / ebay RC10

Post by Rik »

Just a quick note to say hi from Edinburgh to all forum members.

It's probably the beginnings of a mid-life crisis but I'm getting back into RC after 20+ years. I originally ran a Mardave Meteor back in the day which I'm currently stripping and rebuilding. I will put some pics in the appropriate section at some point.

I'd always coveted the RC10 and have been scanning eBay for a couple of months. I managed to win one for what seems to be an absolute bargain and I'm very happy with what I got.

I'll attempt to post some pics but it looks to be an A stamp chassis and going by the eBay description it has the six speed tranny and is made up of bits bought off the web. The chassis is quite scuffed and the bell-crank has been repaired but I can't complain for around £30!

I will do a strip and clean once I've done my Meteor. I'd like a new body (I always loved the box art look) and maybe some new retro wheels. I also want some new batteries (prob NiMh) and maybe a new 2.7GHz transmitter for use with both cars - though my old Acoms is still working.

Any comments / suggestions welcome, especially on good sources of spares in the UK.

Hi Rik.

Welcome to the forum! Not many members from north of the border that i know of. Im from Fife just over the water

The RC10 looks like it will be a good project. If you need the chassis powder coated let me know. I have a p/c business in Glenrothes. Im sure your meteor will be keeping you busy atm!

Thanks for the welcome. I was wondering what to do with the chassis so powder coating might be an option.
