Great setup ideas, I have been wracking my brain thinking of how to do this.

Minor update here too, wish Reggie had chimed in earlier cause this water filtration setup was a simple to build except for my vacuum hose being a non standard size. Other than that, I just need to wait for the glue to dry, add a couple inches of water and hook er up

The dust comes in at a high velocity and hits the water, trapping it. Should make my filter last a whole lot longer!

The tutorial actually mentions that

NOTE: Don't fill the water above the pipe, this is not a "dust bong". If the water is filled above the downpipe, the resulting vacuum may collapse the bucket. You simply want the water to act as trap, by catching the high speed dust as it tries to escape from the bottom of the bucket.

Nice work. Cutting out parts looks like fun. I'm really liking that blue G10 you used on that 12e back on page 1. You can get real creative with that thing.

Do you ever use this to make prototype parts? If you do, how do you get a straight edge if there's no part to template from?

I've used straight material and other pieces to make prototype parts but it's not perfect. On something like the 4wd shock towers, I make one side and use it as a template for both sides. Just flip it halfway thru

Even better than expected- it froze a couple weeks ago so cleanup was super easy! Lol!

It seems to do a good job, no pressure loss and the filter on the vac stays cleaner.

Wow! This is a really nice setup I didn't even know you could do this, but you have got it down great. The filter system is genius! Where do you find your stock? Is it mainly fiberglass sheets or can you use carbon fiber as well?

I use McMaster Carr for the g10/fr4

That's awesome! After seeing yours I think I might have a go at building my own, but slightly different. After looking at a few designs I think I want to locate the pin in the table instead of the arm and use a dremel on top of the arm.

I tried a makeshift version set up that way, the dremel will work but you have to go slow. The reason I went this way was more due to having to lift and lower the pin to get into areas like the battery slots, and also to allow sight of the piece being cut. If you have the pattern on the bottom you can't see it
