Custom towers design for future project. THOUGHTS ?
Hello people I am planning to hand craft some new shock tower to build an rc10 runner inspirited by the siebenelch look. This is the design. The front is base of the classic design but with a cross reinforcement and fixed to work with b4 front shocks. The rear is base on an rc10t rear shock tower with additional positions to adjust shock angle. The rear tower will also work on a RC10T I am building.
Let me know what you think.

Really great, I love the Siebelnech look, but I dont like the angle of the rear shocks (too vertical, it will made rear end too reactive).
With your design, this will be far better. The B4 fix for the front is a great improvement too.
Great!!

Re: Custom towers design for future project. THOUGHTS ?
This is the final design for some custom towers and braces I made for 2 project rc10s I want to built next. Last weekend I had some hour away from the wife and kids and decided to go for it so this is the result.
I cut these from G10 fiberglass sheets. The black ones are fro use with B4 shocks and the yellow ones are fro the standard shock but making them a little more low profile.
The black ones will go on my runner.
Sorry for the bad pics, didn’t have time to set up.

Yep hand crafted. I cut the part with a jewelry saw and refined them with a dremel. And finish them out with craft files and sandpaper. It is time consuming but the result are very nice…
I had a post like a year ago about this,

Nice work. If these look good mounted, you better prepare for orders.

I am thinking I am probably going to make some more but ill take some time. You will be the first to know, but I will build the car first.
Mike, I did get the g10 from McMaster-carr. It is good stuff. Stay away from the green color. The black and brown is what I used.

You don't post much but talk about good stuff to read. Someone should make a special section for handcraft work. It starts to be difficult to find a thread within the growing community.
Btw, what is wrong with the G-10 green one? Do you use the flame retardant one (FR4) or G-10?
Thanks,
Kipis Droit.

Re: Custom towers design for future project. THOUGHTS ?
Thanks for all the responses, I appreciate it.
Well the green G-10 that you can get from Mc Masters is ugly
green and is not smooth.
The one I use is G10/FR4, it has a very nice finish, very smooth. And you can get it in different thickness. I use 1/8” for the black ones and 3/32” on the yellow ones because they are more compact.
I wanted to use carbon fiber but 1/8” carbon fiber is expensive to be testing on. So I plan to get some CF later after testing this one’s out.
