Please help! Stealth b4 shaft conversion problem

Post by ratrod63 »

I am converting a black tub rc10t to brushless and I am attempting to do the b4.1 shaft conversion.
I am having a problem with the shaft getting tight. The transmission spins finer until I put the tensioning spring and nut on the spur gear.
A soon as I put the nut on, The transmission starts binding up and is hard to turn.
I am using the b4.1 slipper and spacer.
Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

we've been doing this swap for awhile around here and the spacer wasn't needed. some say it is. try it both ways and see what works for you.

Assuming you read post that scr8p posted.. Don't use spacer or use it an open up case hole just big enough for spacer to pass thru an sit on bearing, this will stop it binding..But something else looks wierd the spur is along way away from motor plate, mine with the spacer is very close to the motor plate...

I removed the spacer and it worked perfectly. The spur ended up being close to the motor plate but not touching.
Thanks for all the help.
