Whenever there is something that is a little pricey and I want it. I just let opportunity take over. If the item someone is available under an unlikely situation, i take that as a sign to buy it. Just like the classic kit, I didnt plan to buy one. My hobby shop that is pretty much all traxxas somehow ends up with one so I take that as a sign to get one.

Haha, I know what you mean. I had cancelled my pre-ordered Classic from Tower, then immediately wish I hadn't once they were sold out. I called my LHS a few days later and they had a few in stock. I wasn't going to screw myself again...

Hopefully he can, otherwise I will measure it for you.
I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

And if they could correct the TERRIBLE play in the rear hubs offered on the Classic and the rear shock spacers issue, that would be great. The Classic rear hubs only deserve one thing: being trashed immediately!

i think i figured out the rear hub problem on the classic....

most everyone on here should know how nice and snug a bearing fits in an old style hub. they should also know how hard it is to push one of those long bronze bushings through an old style hub. the classic was/is a bushing kit, they had to make the parts fit together nicely. so you end up with a hole perfect for a bushing, too big for a bearing.

the worlds kit has the truck rear hubs so it shouldn't be a problem.

The rear shock spacer should not be a problem as they are using the 1.02 shaft.

I agree it would make sense if they included the old one piece oilite bearing but now it uses two small flanged bushings which by the also float in the inner hub holes, although slightly less I reckon. I still think it's a major flaw though. Anyway, rant over.

The flaws are what make it special.

Yes, it is a flaw! Now the car is doomed to be 1 sec slower a lap! *sarcasm

The "flaw" was indeed intentional, the reason being is that the long 1/4"x 3/8" bushing is not necessarily a common size and especially to ensure that it fits in the older cars as well as the new cars, so a new compression mold for the bushing would have to be made which means increased kit costs. However, since there was already a 1/4"x 3/8"x 1/8" flanged bushing necessary for the diff shaft it made the most sense to just use that in the hubs and which helps increase the quantities and lower the overall cost of the kit. Lastly, we decided that in terms of performance, someone that actually cares will just end up putting in CVA's and running 3/16"x3/8" bearings.

So it seemed like a no-brainer. Help reduce the kit cost to help make it more affordable and negligible difference in performance. Granted it is impossible to please EVERYONE, but it's better than nothing!!
