I'm in the middle of a long restore project. I have been working to get a Graphite back to race condition for the VONATS and now I'm thinking I want to go with the Gold Tub.

Am I just being stupid and bored?

Depending on your set up and driving style, you might be better off with a chassis with more flex as opposed to a stiffer graphite. I suppose you could build both and drive the one that suits you better

I would categorize my driving as dog mess.

I may just swap it for shiggles. I do have enough for one of each but want to get one done first.

Hit a snag. Need to buy a drill guide for the stealth tranny. I'm liking the swap so far.

What are your thoughts about the graphite chassis compared to the gold tub? Which is a better racer and why? I'm in the thinking phase of possibly building a graphite chassis RC10, but would like some insight scoop on how it compares to the gold...

I have never really seen a graphite chassis raced or even played with around my area. That begs the question regarding durability or longevity when compared to the tub chassis.

What are the advantages to the graphite chassis? Is it weight? Or...

Hi guys -- what's the width of a 1980s gold pan chassis tub at its widest point? I just need the width of the chassis tub, not the width from wheel to wheel (tub only).

Given that everything else is equal; What is more desirable a Gold Pan or Graphite Chassis?

Yes, you never know if you will like it or not until you yourself try it.
As far as coveted for me, I covered that early on... only aluminum tubs for me.

I have the following RC10 graphite chassis with a gold motor guard (I found some rear and front white nylon a-arms not shown in the picture). I forgot how it became part of my collection years ago. It would take a lot of work and money to get it...

Mine started in exactly the same way with a bare chassis a few spare parts I had. The rest I purchased as & when they came up at a reasonable price.

New member here. Old hand at Associated RC10s (20+ yrs). I recently picked up a gold tub RC10 with a 6 gear trans and 'A' marked chassis. The trans still feels smooth after cleaning it up and it has a pair of front Kyosho shocks. I didn't notice...

It looks like the last owner swapped out the original front arms. I was amazed at how clean it came out. I wanted to keep the nylon parts white in case I traded / sold it. I know many out there like the original look. I myself would just dye them...
