Carpet buggy racer questions

A local track that has very nice facilities and has only been racing capet oval is going to give offroad style capet for 1/10 buggies a chance. Looking for any input to transition from the typical indoor US clay tracks to carpet.

My main question is if anybody here has used the Shumacher cut stagger tires on the older B2/3 narrow style wheel since those tires are narrow and usually(from what I gather) are run on cut down B4 front wheels. Didin't know if this would throw off the front end too much? The tires are a nice fit on the AE narrow wheels.

Cut staggers are usually run on cut down wide wheels purely because you can't get hold of narrow wheels. They will work fine on narrow wheels. Run them without inserts.

If you need less front grip change to staggers, if you need more front grip use minipins. use minipins on the rear, all in Schumachers yellow compound.

Appreciate the input! Will the narrow wheels work on on a B4 as well even though the offset is different?

A wider track track should take a little steering away, which isn't a bad thing on carpet. Even running the tyres on B4 wheels means you end up mounting the tyres further out than standard as you mount the tyres on the outside of the wheel. The B3 narrow wheels will work perfectly fine.

For carpet we use the low profile staggers and cut staggers, and they are usually run without an insert so the tyre can move around. If you use normal 'slim' tyres, not the low profile versions, you will need inserts and the tyres have a bit less performance compared to the low profile versions. Minipins will always need inserts.

Those premounts are the same fitting as the B4, 3/8" bearings in the front and pin drive in the rear.

Used the mini pin rears and cut stagger slim fronts with inserts this evening at a new carpet off road track. I could not believe how much traction this combo has with my CE.

Yeah, buggies on carpet are a whole new experience with as much grip as you want and tuning to carry as much corner speed as possible without grip rolling.

Grip rolling is a problem. I found an odd quirk that I think is related to my brushed motor setup. In a corner if I stay on the throttle, I can usually carve a half way decent line but I'm not always that good. I've found that when I completely let off the throttle, I get rear wheel lock up and the rear of the car whips around in a turn. It's been a learning curve to try and get through this. It's like running a ton of drag brake in a brushless motor. If I get it sideways in a corner like that, side grip gets to be an issue and the car barrel rolls. I think If I had a BL setup in this car, it would coast a whole lot better. I geared the car down a bit last month to keep the motor temps down, I'm sure this made my problem worse.
On topic, I have been using ProLine Hole Shots. I really like them and they suit the carpet pretty well. I haven't tried mini pins yet though so I cannot compare

Grip rolling both front and rear is a real issue. Any drag brake at all causes a problem. I've also found keeping the rear tires spinning good over jumps keeps from traction rolling the rear when the tires come back into contact with the carpet.
Panther Rattlers and other common dirt tires are working well, but the Schumacher mini pins are like super glue.
