I never noticed the mounts were natural finish in the book. That works out nice for me, because I have the right mounts, but the anodizing on them Its very faded.

I've always wondered if the original truck still exists or who owns it.

I've contemplated for a while on sanding the fins to match the box. Just having a hard time convincing myself to do it. And I've never noticed the flywheel. Mine is only ribbed not knurled. Looks like I've got a couple more things to keep my eye out for. Saving the radio gear for last, never cared for having electronics in a shelf car.

I never noticed the flywheel either. Did you make one of those, Dhood?

Yes, I just chucked it up in a lathe using an old cut down crankshaft. Skimmed of the factory grooves and then knurled it with a knurling tool

Good eye on that header! I would have missed that. GT's are a pond I've never dipped into, will be interesting to have a complete history on the truck, with all the little changes, variations...etc.

Looks great. Did you sand the edges, or just polish?

Technically just sanded with 2000 grit sandpaper but it came out very smooth and shiny.

You cant just dip into a GT pond...you need to dunk yourself into it....head first....go deep...do forget to breath in the nitro fumes!

all brings back memories!!!

Todd...nice polish on the fin edges. i overlooked that detail from the box art.

so your fleet of GT's are increasing...sweet....now you need a nitro DS :mrgreen:

Does anyone know a source for the nipple that attaches to the tuned pipe?

Thanks Limestang

I'm not sure of a source. But I have a few Paris ones like you see on that pipe I've been saving. I might spare one :wink:

nipples = pressure fittings http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD623&P=ML

crooked nipples = 90 Degree pressure fittings http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTT83&P=7

they can be had at tower hobbies or your local hobby shop.

hope that helps
