That guy is a freaking Olds Nut, commissions a painting of Oldsmobiles....wow!scr8p wrote:The guy we built all of those oldsmobiles for commisioned a guy to do a painting of some of the cars in his collection (at the time). Three of them, the 55 gasser, yellow 67 convertible (now in Paul Tuetul Sr.'s collection), and the 68 Hurst olds are ones we did.

Nice Brian. I've got one Owens silk screen print, then a event poster. Speaking of which I need to get that print in a frame.

Re: RC and Automotive Art
I used to make a lot of automotive art. Mostly race cars and exotics. I recently started again, as I'm going to be teaching a photorealistic drawing class in the spring. Here are a few of my older pieces.
Ferrari F40, oil on canvas. Duesenberg, graphite on paper. A top fuel wheel/tire, graphite on paper.

The wheel is my favourite - raw in a Sitting Bull kind of way.
The two others are too "perfect"
I would have thought they were photos if I hadn´t been told otherwise.

Re: RC and Automotive Art
Here's something pretty interesting. Each year the Ridler Award trophy features a cast model of the previous year's winning car. A few extras are always cast. Sources and methods change from year to year. Here's a selection of them-
